Years ago some characters just happened to be immune to it. I could never figure out what in particular caused it.

Are you discovering this for the first time on a new character?

There is a mechanic you can trigger with the right answers and questions. When you do, you are immune to sun sickness, and certain parts of the game world react to you differently. For instance, when you walk past the gate to the old city graveyard, you feel an immense sense of comfort, as if you have come home.

I could never figure out a way to make it trigger more reliably. I tried very hard to get it to trigger for the roll that became Culexus, as part of his story, but I couldn't.

It all has to do with a 'storyline' that has been inactive for years and years, according to Bactrian's answer to my repeated queries.

Rolpa used to obtain feathers and pinions with Kaylarae waaaaaay back in the day. After being cured from sun sickness once, he became immune to it. There are people in the gameworld that still contract it, so it is still possible.

I wanted to test the rumor that sun sickness would go away after one in game month and then you became immune. So i rolled a nub went in for an hour came out without sun sickness. Turned off @newbie and brought him back in for another hour and still didn't get it.

Now I gotta wait 2 weeks to delete the character to test it out on another character. The roll was an aestivian spearsmen.

Culexus, Danasei, and 2 others were in twilight for over an hour on the day it reopened. Lex didn't catch it, or have a single failed test at resisting it. Danasei didn't, but I am pretty sure both others did.

Armataan used to spend -hours- in twilight, and never caught it. But Darvinus got caught there for like 15 minutes once, and caught it. I think it is probably a willpower check, with perhaps other things playing into it.

But yes, as of 1 month ago, it was still live.

As Sceadu recently posted, most of those Skotos commands that were imported ten years ago are themselves quite weak. They're made for speech, so anyone who's cuttongue or otherwise muted can't use them even when it makes sense to. He's converted many of them to our system (which should have been done in the first place.)

Thankfully, emote is awesome. Macros are okay too.
