Diana
* Diana (goddess) was the Roman counterpart of the Greek goddess Artemis. * Diana, Princess of Wales. * 78 Diana is an asteroid. * Diana (crater) is a crater on the Moon. * Diana Krall is a popular Jazz pianist and singer. * Diana (Sailor Moon), a fictional character in the Japanese anime Sailor Moon. (Diana was the daughter of Artemus and Luna) * Diana Prince is the alter-ego of Wonder Woman Diana was the equivalent in Roman mythology of the Greek Artemis (see Roman/Greek equivalency in mythology for more details). She was the daughter of Jupiter and Latona, and the twin sister of Apollo. Both were born on the island Delos. Diana was the perpetual virgin goddess of the hunt, associated with wild animals and forests. She was also a moon goddess, and an emblem of chastity. Oak groves were especially sacred to her. She was praised for her strength, athletic grace, beauty and her hunting skills. With two other Roman deities she made up a trinity: Egeria the water nymph, her servant and assistant midwife; and Virbius, the woodland god. Neat. ![]() |

Bel
* Bel, signifying "lord" or "master", is a title rather than a genuine name, applied to various gods in Babylonian religion. The feminine form is Belit 'Lady, Mistress'. Bel is represented in Greek and Latin by Belos and Belus respectively. Linguistically Bel is an east Semitic form cognate with northwest Semitic Ba‘al which has the same meaning.

Wait, Prince Bertram was known as the Bad? That would explain a few things.

It was written by a man named Arnold Lobel, who has actually written a huge selection of children's stories. Including the 'Frog and Toad' series, umm... 'Mouse Soup' and many many others. Personally, though, I always equated Prince Bertram with Prince Cornellius from Thumbelina. ~Prince Cornelius begs his Mother and Father to delay the frost~ (the odd thing is. His Mother seems fine with the idea, but his Father, is insistent on the frost coming immediately.)
