I voted for taking tridents away from chargen because tridents are too numerous these days. Trident users used to be proud of just knowing tridents because it cost them GSP and it was a fairly rare weapon around.

*yawns* Agility is ~THE~ main combat stat. If you have crappy agility, you will be a crappy fighter. The other stats do other related but less important things.

If you have crappy agility, either expect to have to have 3 times as many ranks as someone with awesome agility to beat them, or else forgo your retalq helmet with a seven foot spike jutting straight up from the top with a serpent twined about it and the serpent's head impaled on the tip of the spike with a faceplate crafted to resemble Tony Blair eating a fig newton. Spend the 2000 rps instead on agility upgrades, and spend 2 weeks at the courses. 'Nuff said.

Andrew, you probably mistook it. Tridents are powerful weapons and masses of people have begun using them. I don't want it taken away so I can be the best; besides, half of the trident users around are better than I am anyway. It's just that tridents used to be rare and much more respected.

Well since I have never rolled good stats for a tuchean I'll say let them stay. But hell or high water cesti and whips should not be in the chargen. Thats like putting nelsor in the chargen.

None of the gladiator weapons should be in chargen..they are exotic weapons. Wanna learn em, spend the RPs. Besides..I see alot of new people taking Tucheans and trying tridents, then they disappear quick. Contrary to what seems to be the popular belief, tridents are NOT the ultimate weapon in the game. Sure, they hit hard- but anything slamming three blades into is gonna. However, this is offset by the fact that they are incredibly slow. Most moves have a 6 to 7 second roundtime. Training up in them takes awhile, and it's fatiguing.This is why most novice trident users go away..they just aren't getting the quick SP that you can get in most other weapons.

The older/more experienced/good trident users are still respected. Respect was given to those trident wielders because they were actually good. They never abused the throws and weapon disarms excessively. And why should every newbie trident wielder who spends a few extra gsp suddenly feel respected? Just because he can disarm and throw a gapper against every grandmaster in the game? Um, no. Actually, I tend to hold less respect for the people that go out and train specifically in every un-blockable move. If they train in all the other moves and blocks, then fine. They're becoming a good trident wielder. I have no problem with that. But when every no-name trident wielder that walks up to me and smirks in my face and yells, "I can disarm you! Hahahah!" it gets kinda annoying.
