The game is Mount & Blade; likely the Warband expansion. The Roman skins and gameplay are a modification.

M&B is awesome. The game has actually been around for a long time - it was a little indy project, I started playing it in 2005. Warband made it a lot more fun (being able to create your own kingdom through conquest and the like).
Vanilla multiplayer for Warband is fairly often, although you generally have to be willing to play Euro friendly times, since it is a much bigger hit there than here (especially in Eastern Europe). Still, I've not found a game yet that satisfies my urge for smashing peasants in the face with a morningstar while charging on horseback like M&B.
